On 08/09/2014, Standing Vice Chairman of People's Committee of Quang Nam Province Dinh Van Thu met and worked with the leaders of JETRO Hanoi and JETRO Ho Chi Minh City (JETRO) led by Mr. Yasuzumi, Chief Representative of JETRO Ho Chi Minh City as head of the delegation. The purpose of the delegation's visit is to strengthen cooperation on a number of domains, survey some industrial parks, prospect the investment environment and support attracting more Japanese investors to Quang Nam province.
Attending the meeting were the leaders of Departments of Planning and Investment, Foreign Affairs, Investment Promotion and Enterprise Support Agency, Quang Nam Industrial Zones Management Board, the Authority of Chu Lai Open Economic Zone and the Office of the Provincial People's Committee.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman highly appreciated JETRO delegation on exploring the investment environment in Quang Nam and here is also an opportunity to introduce Quang Nam’s potentials and strengths as well as its preferential policy and investment incentives for foreign investors, particularly for Japanese investors. Presently, there are 15 Japanese investors operating in Quang Nam province specialized in the industrial manufacturing and processing sectors, notably several enterprises operating effectively such as Madza automotive in Chu Lai Truong Hai Automotive Complex, the shower manufacturing Lixil Inax in Dien Nam-Dien Ngoc Industrial Park ... However the number of Japanese investors in the central region of Vietnam in general and in Quang Nam province in particular are still less; no many large investors have come to seek investment opportunities in Quang Nam. Through this meeting, the provincial leaders also emphasized that Quang Nam will continue to invite more Japanese investors to explore the investment opportunities in the field of supporting industries, automotive mechanics, electronics, textiles and apparel, high-tech industry and agriculture ... as well as is committed to support the existing investors as well as the investors who will make investments in Quang Nam province.
JETRO Hanoi and JETRO Ho Chi Minh City Representatives thanked Vice Chairman taking the time to meet and work with JETRO delegation and supporting Japanese enterprises in Quang Nam province. At the same time, JETRO delegation committed to support Quang Nam in seeking for Japanese partners through the investment promotion workshops, conferences and so on. The two sides also agreed on early conducting surveys and updating Quang Nam’s industrial parks and industrial enterprises on the list of 100 Vietnamese industrial parks and 500 enterprises that JETRO has ever introduced for cooperation with Japanese enterprises; thereby helping Japanese enterprises easily understand, access and invest in Quang Nam province, contribute to strengthening the relationships and solidarity between Vietnam and Japan.
On the same day, JETRO delegation visited Truong Hai Chulai Automotive Complex in Chu Lai Open Economic Zone and Dong Queson Industrial Park
