On June 19th, at Danang city, The Investment Promotion Center for Central Vietnam (IPCC), an unit of Foreign Investment Agency (FIA) – Ministry Planning and Investment (MPI) opened a training course on “Strengthening skills on investment promotion and management of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) for related officials in Central Vietnam”. The course attracted the participation of leaders, officials and experts from relevant departments and enterprises in Central region.
Mr. Dang Xuan Quang, Deputy Director General of FIA attended and gave an opening remark. Subsequently, he had an important overview presentation about current situation, orientations and solutions aiming at attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) into Vietnam, especially mentioning the Government’ guidelines on FDI attraction. He also presented some problems regarding termination of operating FDI projects before the closing deadline. He also shared experiences in investment promotion and state management on this field. This lecture attracted most of participants, helped them update new ideas, experiences for promoting their professional ability and skills.
The training course is relatively practical, adhering to some new important Laws (revised), including some new lectures and topics such as:
Draft of Joint Circular of Ministry of Finance (MOF) and MPI about "Management of finance for investment promotion activities" by Mrs. Pham Thi Yen Ly - Corporate Finance Agency - MOF presented. This lecture has attracted the attention of students with lively presentation. The next lecture titled "Guide to implementing the regulation on State management of investment promotion activities (Decision No. 03/2014/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister)” was presented by Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh from FIA.
In the framework of training course, Dr. Truong Thi Chi Binh – Director of Supporting Businesses Development Center - Ministry of Industry and Trade presented the lecture "Policy orientation towards attracting investment into supporting industries in Vietnam”. The instructor gave many practical situations, comparing specifically supporting industries of Vietnam with that of other countries in the region such as Malaysia, Thailand, etc. This lecture was highly appreciated by most of course participants as it helped them identify clearly the crucial role of supporting industries and next solutions for Vietnam in this field.
The following lecture titled "Concerns of Japanese investors when invest in Vietnam" was presented by Mr. Nakaya Yoichi - Vice President of Japanese Business Association in Danang city. He overviewed simple but real situation and important factors influencing the investment decision of Japanese investors in Central Vietnam.
Remarkably, Mr. Lam Quang Minh - Director of Danang Investment Promotion Center gave an impressive presentation titled "On-site investment promotion and investor care: Skills and experience of Da Nang". Understanding the activities of investors, resolving timely their problems and providing sufficiently information when they need as well as facilitating connection between FDI enterprises are key succesful experiences of Danang in investment promotion in general and marketing new investors in particular.
In conclusion, the training course received the dynamic participation and constructive comments of related Leaders, officials and businesses in Central Vietnam and ended successfully.
